Assistant Research Professor - Structural Biology (Finance)



We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Assistant Research Professor in Structural Biology to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will conduct independent research on the structural biology of G-proteins, oncogenes, and tumor suppressors, contribute to ongoing projects, and collaborate with faculty and students. The appointment start date is August 7, 2025.Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in the field of Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Postdoctoral experience with a strong publication record.
Demonstrated ability to determine atomic structures of proteins using x-ray crystallography and cryo-EM
Demonstrated ability to prepare protein samples for cryo-EM
Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research.
Experience managing research projects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.

  • Conduct independent research in structural biology with an emphasis on structure determination of oncogenes and tumor suppressors using x-ray crystallography and cryo-EM.
  • Develop and implement experimental protocols and methodologies for x-ray crystallography and cryo-EM structure determination of proteins.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
  • Mentor and supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Collaborate with faculty members on interdisciplinary research projects.
  • Seek external funding through grant proposals and manage funded projects.
  • Participate in departmental and university service activities.
