What will I be doing?

The Training & Development Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the learning culture at Waldorf Astoria Park City. This position works closely with the Director of Learning & Development to ensure all training, onboarding, and quality efforts align with our luxury service standards. While this list outlines the core responsibilities of the role, it is not all-inclusive-flexibility and collaboration are key to success in our dynamic and service-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance & Safety Training: Coordinate and track completion of required trainings including Harassment Prevention, Active Shooter Awareness, ADA, First Aid, Food Handler, CPR, and Alcohol Certifications.
  • Learning Systems & Assignments: Maintain accurate records in our internal LMS. Assign courses, monitor completions, and provide technical support to team members.
  • Training Calendar Management: Maintain and distribute a property-wide training calendar that includes orientation dates, leadership sessions, and department-specific learning(s).
  • Onboarding Support: Coordinate & Participate new hire orientation logistics, track onboarding checklists, and support communication of transfers and promotions. Assist in delivering the New Leader Onboarding Program.
  • Department Training Tools: Support the upkeep of Job Skills Checklists and departmental Training Grids to ensure consistent, structured onboarding across all operational areas. This includes collaborating with the Director of L&D to create customized content and creative training programs.
  • Luxury Standards & Auditing: Assist with quality service training, service energizers, coaching on achieving standards, service audits, SWOT analysis reviews, and Quality Metric Scorecard. Participate in ongoing preparation and support for quality evaluations.
  • Recognition & Engagement: Partner with multiple departments including Human Resources to coordinate team member birthday and milestone celebrations, and other internal recognition programs.
  • Ambassador Network & Culture: Act as the main coordinator for the Waldorf Astoria Ambassador Network and support team member involvement in property-wide initiatives, including culture-building programs and community outreach.
  • Communication & Announcements: Prepare and distribute team member announcements for new hires, transfers, and internal promotions to build awareness and foster connection. Communicating new expectations and standards are critical to the success of this role.
  • Reporting & Briefs: Assist with reporting projects such as KPI Executive Briefs, training completion audits, and monthly updates on learning milestones or initiatives.
  • Security & Audit Support: Track participation in safety training and assist in supporting training initiatives that prioritize safety.
