VP of IT Infrastructure (Finance)



DESCRIPTION

The Vice President (VP) of IT Infrastructure role is responsible for the strategy, architecture, and operations of Michael Baker's infrastructure. This includes designing, maintaining, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network and server infrastructure, cloud services, telecommunications/unified communications systems. This role will provide the vision and strategy to drive next generation capabilities and services required to support future solutions, business capabilities and position Michael Baker to be a best-in-class enterprise architecture and service delivery.

To be effective in this leadership role, they will need to collaborate across multiple business stakeholders, vendor partners and team members to maximize our investments. Have strong organizational, technical, process, and people management skills. Work with our partners, and with peers to develop and coordinate strategy, architecture, roadmaps, budgets, and execution of IT services. As a member of the IT leadership team, this role contributes to the development and execution of our IT strategy and ensures its alignment with the business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve our business goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide thought leadership, implement, and support field services IT infrastructure needs, such as connectivity, field technology kits, and mobile devices.
  • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity and performance meets existing and future requirements.
  • Provide strategic direction, guidance and execution for technology operations, services and support while monitoring performance project initiatives.
  • Work with peers and business leaders to develop and implement corporate IT vision and strategy to support business objectives.
  • Introduce innovative and differentiating infrastructure which enhances our overall competitive capabilities and employee productivity.
  • Collaborate and build relationships across the broader domain to manage/mitigate escalations, customer impacts, reprioritization of efforts, anticipate future needs and adjust budget, organization, and staff accordingly.
  • Drive and lead strategic initiatives, technology enhancements, service delivery and support market-facing programs.
  • Provide leadership in planning and management operations and production support, systems and database administration, network operations and assist in supporting desktop, mobile devices.
  • Manage IT resource requirements to ensure appropriate balance between tactical and strategic demands.
  • Manage strategic relationships with key IT products and service partners.
  • Develop and manage overall IT infrastructure and Field Services budgets, including capital budgets in consultation with CIO and IT Leadership peers.
  • Reduce manual workloads and process reengineering through infrastructure automation.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety, cybersecurity and compliance rules, regulations, and best practices.
  • Implement and maintain technology roadmaps, including capacity planning and modeling to support short- and longer-term growth requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and direction to the team in accordance with the organization's culture, policies, and procedures to meet team, department, and company goals.
  • Recruit, interview, select and hire team members with proper skills to accomplish team, department, and company goals.
  • Provide strong leadership through mentoring career development, interpersonal communication and teamwork enabling professional goal development.
  • Coach, develop skills and mentor staff at all experience levels, including overseeing onboarding and providing career/development planning opportunities.
  • Delegate responsibility and expect accountability, including a frequent, consistent and open feedback process.
  • Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity that allows for differing points of view to be shared openly, encourages collaboration, cohesiveness, supportiveness, and deals with conflicting ides and perspectives in an expeditious and healthy manner.
  • Guide staff's work to include projects, job rotation, training, and hybrid work schedules to meet team, department, and company goals.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), or related field from an accredited institution
  • 15+ years of experience showing increasing responsibilities for management and leadership of information technology professionals.
  • Proven success leading infrastructure transformation in a complex, multi-site organization- AEC industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and technical expertise in a cloud- centric enterprise architecture, specifically Microsoft Azure and AWS, with proven experience integrating new cloud operations with traditional infrastructure and application support operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams through a transformational period and have deep experience in organizational change management.
  • Experience with the following technologies is a plus: Exposure to AI solutions, Microsoft 365, Azure, InTune, Mobility Management, Fortinet, HP, Nasuni, AWS and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging technology, technology directions and strategic application to business needs.
  • Experience translating Business strategy into actionable technology roadmaps. Extensive knowledge of infrastructure planning and operations, design and deployment, and system lifecycle management.
  • Experience managing IT Infrastructure in on-premises datacenters, cloud based (AWS and Azure) datacenters, and hybrid implementations.
  • Excellent project management skills, including ability to effectively deploy resources and manage multiple projects of diverse scope in a cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of budgeting and strategic planning processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms.
  • Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams to achieve program and project objectives.
  • Ability to travel domestically for business to various MBI offices, vendor premises and other locations as needed.

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position $167,793-$317,137 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
