Senior Principal Engineer (Finance)



Saalex is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer in Bethesda, MD to support NSWC Carderock's requirements for engineering, IT, and technical support for data analysis, software development and modifications, control system development, IT and Information assurance (IA). The work performed will be in support of various projects related to surface ships, submarines, boats and combatant craft, air vehicles, other vehicles going through air and/or water, associated trainers and simulators from any of the above, and IT infrastructure.

The Senior Principal Engineers apply the theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems. This work includes but not limited to directing and managing naval ship engineering and acquisition programs; analysis of ship performance, ship system engineering, ship control and simulation, propulsion and control system trade-off analysis, maintain awareness of latest developments in the field, and be knowledgeable on physics-based submarine and surface ship maneuvering prediction tools/software.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $121k - $191k annually (depending on experience)

Work Location: Onsite. Candidates are required to work onsite full-time in Bethesda, MD.

Requirements

Required:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Control Systems, Mathematics, or Naval Architecture.

Desired:
  • Twenty (20) years of experience in directing and managing major naval ship engineering and acquisition programs. The twenty (20) years of experience shall include experience in all of the following:
  • Major involvement in complete ship design and acquisition programs including: engineering design trade-offs, complete technical management plans, and demonstrated currency in the field.
  • Analysis of ship performance, ship systems engineering, ship control and simulation, propulsion and control system trade-off analysis, and demonstrated currency in the field.

Security Clearance:

  • Active Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.

Education/Experience:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Control Systems, Mathematics, or Naval Architecture.
