Shipping Supervisor (Administrative)

Job Description and Responsibilities
We are seeking a Shipping Supervisor to join our Seamless Mill team located at our plant in Pueblo, Colorado. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for all shipping operations in the Seamless department. This position is accountable to the General Supervisor of Production.
Perform daily yard and equipment inspections with an eye for safety and productivity issues, coordinate with mill support groups to design and implement countermeasures
Conduct shift safety meetings, train employees on safe work practices, and conduct daily safe job observations
Use LEAN tools from the EVRAZ Business System to engage employees to continuously improve shipping operations
Direct, supervise, and schedule up to 10 employees in the training, handling and shipping of seamless pipe
Direct and prioritize movement, organization, and maintenance of shipping supplies and finished goods inventory to meet required shipping commitments safely and efficiently
Take ownership of and assist in physical inventories and cycle counts
Coordinate truck and rail availability by working closely with the traffic department while keeping the mill and sales informed of shipping plan
Work with vendor managed inspection groups to ensure smooth transfer of product
Work with shipping department and railroad to manage truck and rail transfers
Conduct pipe inventories as required, maintain records, and coordinate with accounting and planning groups to correct deficiencies
Maintain and correct electronic and written records including; truck records, daily shipping schedules, and shift performance information
Coordinate daily with sales group regarding shipments and finished goods inventory
Maintain KRONOS Pay System by reviewing, editing, and approving employee time cards daily
Maintain a good working knowledge of the collective bargaining agreements and applicable company policies, while following documentation and grievance procedures
Requirements
BS in Business, Engineering or a related-technical field or 3-5 years of material handling and/or shipping experience with demonstrated leadership
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel and Word, Oracle, SQUIS, and LEAN business concepts and practices
Safety focused with strong time management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment must be able to work shifts as needed to ensure product shipment including nights and weekends as needed
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to professionally communicate with all levels of EVRAZ personnel and contractors
Have a good understanding of drawings and Engineering principles
Basic knowledge of API requirements as they pertain to OCTG in particular Seamless pipe
Compensation
$62,800 - $72,220
