Senior Database Developer (Finance)
The position location is at or near one of the seven CMOPs in VAs CMOP network (Charleston, SC, Chelmsford, MA, Hines IL, Lancaster, TX, Leavenworth, KS, Murfreesboro, TN, or Tucson, AZ).
Using a Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) methodology and Agile Framework practices, this project delivers development, testing, deployment, and security and operations support for legacy, current, and future CMOP systems integration and software development in a DevSecOps lifecycle. The successful candidate will provide database development support of all CMOP maintenance and enhancement efforts organized in cross-functional, Agile teams of varying size to build and maintain a platform with capabilities to streamline systems, improve scalability, increase availability and reliability of services, and more accurately measure investments in terms of business value while enabling more efficient delivery. Additionally, work may include support of daily bug fix and issue tracking as it relates to the CMOP software systems to sustain production operations. The sustainment and modernization of the CMOP facilities scope of work tasks are aligned to the team delivery objectives listed below:
Maintenance: Maintenance to all software at the individual CMOP facilities used to interface with local production equipment and processes This maintenance function involves phone and remote system support with the seven CMOPs as well as on-site support.
Enhancement and Integration Support: Provide software services that improve performance, safety, accountability, controls, and documentation including software interfaces as new production equipment is introduced at the CMOPs.
Standardization and Consolidation: Lead efforts to bringing process and documentation standardization to local production systems that includes documentation, workflow, testing processes, code management, centralized, CMOP national-level, code management and other software development processes.
The quality Candidate will provide analysis of database inconsistencies; assessment and development of SQL queries and scripts to support the mining of business data; recommendations for the optimization of database functionality and performance, and recommendations with respect to data management with interconnected databases and their supported applications at the CMOP facilities.
Position Responsibilities:
Support provision of SQL database design and operations services in support of maintenance, enhancement, and modernization of CMOP facilities
Analyze SQL functions, procedures, processes, and jobs operations and recommend solutions to inefficiencies
Analyze Visual Studio .NET processes and procedures that interact with database functions and processes for extracting, transforming, and moving data between databases and environments including but not limited to interdependent report servers (via SSRS) and websites; recommend solutions to problems and inefficiencies
Demonstrate understanding CMOP dataflows for approximately 50 60 database applications to ensure effective processing of the site workload, and CMOP applications and their interfaces with the databases.
Perform issue resolution caused by the applications and their interaction with CMOP data.
Design and recommend solutions that integrate with existing VA architecture
Analyze business needs and user stories to identify technical solutions
Apply expert knowledge of advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to sustain and enhance the CMOP databases / software baseline and automate (CI/CD) where applicable
Ensure development compliance and patient safety standards, Develop, maintain, and enhance PowerBI dashboards, create SSRS report to monitor health and KPIs
Works closely with other Agile teams, key CMOP stakeholders, Pharmacist Quality Assurance (QA), and CMOP product management
