Job Title: Community Prevention Coordinator FLSA Status: Exempt Department: Education Reports to: Director of Education Since 1975 Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA) has been an essential part of the Kansas City metro. Our mission is to improve the lives of those impacted by sexual abuse and assault, and to prevent sexual violence in our community. SUMMARY Implements primary prevention strategies designed to prevent sexual violence perpetration and victimization. JOB OBJECTIVES I. Program Coordination a. Coordinate and oversee community prevention activities; build and enhance relationships with community partners; represent MOCSA at community events and meetings; enhance and maintain community coalition; mobilize community members to fulfill coalition goals; manage coalition communications and administrative tasks. II. Assist with Program Development and Implementation a. Facilitate planning sessions; develop action plans; guide coalition goal-setting; build community support for program goals; oversee implementation of program goals. III. Assist with Program Reporting and Evaluation a. Coordinate data collection, evaluation and reporting for project-related goals, objectives and strategies. IV. Supervision a. Recruit, train and supervise AmeriCorps VISTAs and Prevention Specialist - Community Services. The responsibilities described represent the primary responsibilities of the job. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor as warranted by business needs. The incumbent is expected to do all assigned responsibilities. Grant funds may only be used for the provision of approved activities. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree in public health, social work, public affairs, or related field or five years of equivalent work experience in community mobilization and program coordination. One to three years of experience in building and maintaining coalitions or working collaboratively with community partners. One to three years of experience in program development and writing project reports and proposals. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with diverse communities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication, organizational, and public speaking skills. Proven leadership and administrative abilities. WORK HOURS This is a full-time position; business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. TRAVEL Frequent travel throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area to perform program coordination duties.
