Position Overview:
As the Executive Director of DEI, you will serve as a leader and change-agent for all diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)-based programming, strategies and professional development. This position will be responsible for overseeing the planning, facilitation and evaluation of processes for organizational change using an equity-minded framework. The Executive Director will be committed to advancing the diversity, equity and inclusion efforts within BerganKDV and embolden others to do the same to solidify DEI as a core element of our firm's culture.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this dynamic advisor to the firm demonstrates cultural awareness and agility, exercises emotional intelligence, builds trust and credibility and collaborates with a wide variety of stakeholders. The successful candidate will have the ability to articulate in verbal and written form the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion and will also be responsible for executing the firms vision for diversity, equity and inclusion.
Responsibilities:
Execute DEI initiatives and drive strategy and diplomacy to support and lead the organization towards increased awareness and an enhanced culture, engagement and employee experience.Strong understanding of compliance as it relates to DEI.Create, organize, evaluate and evolve the Firms DEI program and initiatives.Establish DEI targets to drive action and accountability.Serve as the steward of transparent, safe and meaningful conversations to enable an environment of trust and support.Provide direction, area of focus and desired outcomes for current DEI council.Establish firmwide DEI integration to include the following:
Employee lifecycle [recruiting, hiring, onboarding, succession planning, performance management and more]External audiences [marketing, sales, client service]Overall business strategy, firm direction, mission/vision/values, culture, etc.
Orchestrate effective change management strategies to drive engagement with key stakeholders.Share best practices to support the development of an inclusive environment across our firm.Help BerganKDV define what DEI means to us as One Firm, broaden the reach, and strengthen our team members understanding and impact of our diversity, equity and inclusion work.Partner with business units to support and evolve ideas, projects and initiatives as it relates to DEI.
Desired Skills:
Strong and effective communication skills; ability to communicate in ways that inform, influence and engage target audiences.Experience crafting inclusive, DEI-specific strategies, messaging, change and engagement approaches; an outstanding ability to understand and incorporate the cultural nuances of language across dimensions of diversity.Experience working cross-functionally, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partners and teams.Outstanding record in developing, prioritizing and managing communications strategies and cultural insightsDemonstrated ability to influence and counsel leadership at all levels.Demonstrate empathy and inspirational messaging that engages others, inspires followership and catalyzes meaningful action.Strong emotional intelligence, communication and presentation skills.Exceptional problem solving, project management, execution and change management skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development or similarMinimum of 5 years of DEI-related professional work experience
