Batching Operator SIGN ON BONUS 1 (Finance)
The Batching Operator role is responsible for the batch scheduling of raw commodities into accurate batches of mixed meal delivered through the hammermill and screening systems. The Batching Operator will participate in setting strategy for the processing system to ensure meeting or exceeding production schedule in the most efficient manner possible. The operator is also responsible to perform preventative and downtime maintenance of area equipment and help make incremental improvements as well as assisting maintenance and engineering to improve and upgrade current systems and equipment and provide input on new projects. They are responsible for Developing and maintaining proficiency in Mars business systems as needed to ensure accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Knowledge of processing system concepts.
Responsible for assisting all areas in maintaining high levels of daily cleanliness and adherence to site GMP's.
Prioritize work on a daily basis by identifying pressing issues, through communication with each operator, knowing shift production plans and awareness of area.
Requirements in each area include but are not limited to:
Promote high quality team environment through effective team work and self-management with a positive attitude.
Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and train new associates.
Performs all assigned activities and job tasks within a line or area
Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Takes corrective actions in solving problems to root cause level
Assess equipment operating reliability and perform routine repairs, adjustments and malfunction troubleshooting
Performs and/or works with Maintenance to complete equipment preventive maintenance
Performs all shift support documentation in a quality matter
Demonstrates high degree of ownership for product quality: Performs all standard quality checks & other quality related duties
Understands production schedules
Other Responsibilities:
Educate others on clean design principles.
Receive micro training and understand the hazards of cross contamination
Develop a detailed knowledge of the process flow of the plant.
Demonstrate ability to perform micro hazard sampling
Understand traffic, air flow and color code system.
Maintain Process area repair effectively communicating with maintenance. Escalation of issues
Other similar duties as assigned.
Prepare and maintain SOP's and training modules.

Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Must not be afraid of heights; must be capable of working at elevated heights
Must not be unuually sensitive to chemicals (contact lenses not recommended).
Vision correctable to 20/20.
Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time.
Standing on a concrete floor
Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform)
Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 lbs Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust dirt and chemicals
Able to work with minimal supervision
Forklift assignments require OSHA certification and getting on and off frequently
Able to work with minimal supervision
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to move light to moderately heavy objects.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock.
The associate is frequently exposed to vibration.
The associate is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
Minimum Qualifications:
Be 18 years of age or older
Have a High school diploma, GED or equivalent education
Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules
Able to work with minimal supervision Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of manufacturing experience operating a variety of machines
2 years of work experience within manufacturing, or a technical and/or trade discipline
Demonstrated competency in computer and pc software including MS Office and email
Knowledge of inventory control principles
