What you'll do:
As Prendio's new Software Architect, you will join a small but growing team of enthusiastic, hands-on engineers to ensure that our products meet the highest standard of quality. You will take ownership of software architecture and lead the team technically during all phases of the project life cycle, working together with high-level executives to generate the best possible designs and solutions. This role is an integral part of creating a first-class user experience for our rapidly growing customer base.
A Prendio Software Architect:
- Works to develop high quality software that is performant, scalable, reusable, extensible, secure, supportable, and reliable
- Serves as a technical lead and team mentor
- Identifies, uses, and advocates for developer best practices in all layers of the architecture
- Leads the technical planning and requirements gathering phases including estimate, develop, test, manage projects, architect, and deliver
- Is constantly learning and improving their skill set, staying up to date with the trends and industry standards of their craft
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in IT, software development management, software engineering, computer science, or a related field
- 15+ year of experience in the software industry
- Experience with Java/j2ee technologies
- Expertise in designing and implementing monolithic to micro services architecture
- Fluency in cloud orchestration tools and technologies
- Proven experience in software management and development
- Experience with Solution Architect, Java Architect, UML, Messaging/JMS, Microservices Architect, and best practices, techniques, and planning for Agile projects
- Exceptional analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills; the ability to demonstrate data-driven decision making
- A successful track record of architecting, designing, and implementing complex, loosely coupled, scalable, and secure software systems
- Rich experience in large-scale data processing, distributed system performance tuning, multi-thread programming, and cloud-based systems
- Experience designing/developing service-based systems to be used at an enterprise level
- Familiarity with all aspects of the public cloud for enterprise including cloud security patterns, multi-account/multi-region architectures, and change management
- The ability to work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- The ability to appreciate and enjoy a challenge
- A strong desire to continuously improve the customer's experience
