  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering field
  • 5+ years of design and drafting experience is required in an architectural, structural, or mechanical design environment
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a team environment
  • Demonstrated experience in product development
  • Strong knowledge of physics, motion dynamics, and mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering
  • Experience working with codes and standards applied to engineering products
  • Must possess strong decision-making abilities
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Experience with 2D design tools (AutoCAD preferred) and 3D CAD tools (Solidworks preferred)
  • Must understand and be able to author basic programming logic and syntax
  • Must be able to work with limited instruction from manager/team leaders to meet project deadlines
  • Elevator codes/regulations of product components preferred
  • 2+ years of elevator design experience preferred
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and traction elevators preferred

TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer IIin Atlanta, GA.

This role will design, develop, implement, and analyze mechanical components or whole elevator systems. The position activities also include working with specific or general product requirements, conducting verifications or validation activities along the product development life cycle, and developing/documenting technical reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Designs mechanical components and elevator systems
  • Works under general supervision, relies on limited instructions and pre-established guidelines
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and/or other required equipment to perform assignments
  • Uses basic programming to configure elevator systems based on engineering documentation
  • Understands and uses the A17.1 elevator code and other relevant standards as a basis for all designs
  • Maintain/develop department owned templates, calculation sheets, and reference documents
  • Applies, develops, and documents application and design rules based on design intent and system limitations
  • Submit Engineering Change Orders for end-to-end system change requirements
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving activities
  • Works with other component or system engineers during product development activities
  • Assists in the development of test plans and performs product development testing when needed
  • Works in team environment with product engineers, configurators, and other cross functional areas
  • Adheres to all safety procedures and company safety standards while working in the lab and test tower
  • Adheres to the corporate compliance policy and ensures that behavior in the workplace is that of a responsible professional
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
