Operational Resilience Specialist (Construction)
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Safety & Security, the Operational Resilience Specialist (utilizing Fusion RM Enterprise Software) develops, maintains, implements business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and solutions, including risk assessments, business impact analyses, documentation of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures. Plans, conducts, and debriefs regular mock-disaster exercises to test the adequacy of existing plans and strategies, updating procedures and plans regularly. Act as a coordinator for continuity efforts after a disruption event.

· Identify opportunities for strategic and tactical improvement or mitigation of business interruption and other risks caused by business, regulatory, or industry-specific change initiatives.
· Utilizing Fusion RM Enterprise software, develop contingency / disaster recovery and emergency management plans to mitigate risk and to deal with organizational emergencies including recovery decision making and communications, continuity of critical departmental processes, or temporary shut-down of non-critical departments to ensure continuity of operation and governance.
· Analyze impact on, and risk to, essential business functions and assist in identifying acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
· Maintain ongoing monitor, triggers, escalation and mitigating actions of the relevant metrics.
· Conduct analysis of resilience risks and controls and challenge the RCSA ratings of these risks and controls.
· Engage and liaise with internal stakeholder groups that have oversight of processes relevant to the enterprise operational resilience approach which is to prevent, protect, respond, and adopt/learn from disruptive events.
· Participate in the enterprise stress-testing scenario analyses relevant to business disruption risks.
· Understand the operational risk methods and practices and align operational risk management processes with the operational resilience framework (Fusion RM)
· Be apprised of operational resilience events and data collection including reporting when necessary; perform detailed reviews of trends to identify significant risks and ensure monitoring and remediation.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
· 5 to 7 years breadth of exposure to multi-site educational business continuity environment.
· Highly developed relationship management, influencing and leadership skills.
· Understanding of business continuity management and governance frameworks, strong knowledge of business continuity best practices and protocols, operational risk management, and in-depth knowledge and expertise of operations, including IT practices.
· A strong understanding of Operational risk and resilience, Business Process improvement methods as well as risk related control frameworks and practices (COCO, COSO, ISO, ITIL, CMM, COBIT, etc.),
· Solid understanding of the Operational Resilience methodology.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Exceptional ability to remain calm under stress.
· Excellent team skills, both as a leader and as a team player.
· Excellent communication skills, especially related to facilitation, documentation and
reporting.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
· Preferred Certified Continuity Planner
· Industry certification in one or more of the following: BCI, PMI, CCSA, CISA, CA, CCSP, ISC, ITIL
qualifications/Skills:

· Functional knowledge of Fusion RM Enterprise Software a plus.
· 5+ years operational resilience or business continuity experience within an organization.
· Knowledge of technology and business and educational concepts, life cycles and processes
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
