Responsibilities
Responsible for the total purchasing function, including quoting, vendor selection, purchase, receipt, storage and disbursement of materials, services and equipment at lowest total costs to the region. Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to, leadership and supervisory accountability of mill purchasing and stores personnel as well as annual employee performance and compensation reviews.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications : Minimum 5 years purchasing experience to include in-depth working knowledge of materials, contracts, negotiations and suppliers. A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience. Ability to work independently, excellent communication skills required and the ability to work in a stressful and changing environment. Ability to understand and apply statistical measures to support product quality improvement goals along with an understanding of maintenance and capital equipment requirements in the wood products industry.
Preferred Qualifications : Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification and/or bachelor's degree preferred.
