Wastewater Operator - 12:00am - 12:00pm shift (Finance)

For more than 25 years, Woodard & Curran has offered contract operations and management services for drinking water, municipal and industrial wastewater, groundwater remediation, and solid waste facilities nationwide. Currently we contract operate more than 50 facilities nationwide. Woodard & Curran draws on the experience of hundreds of certified operators across the country, backed by the knowledge and skills of hundreds more engineers, scientists, and regulatory experts, to quickly tackle the most challenging operational issues and keep treatment plants running efficiently and in full compliance.

What would you be doing at Woodard & Curran?

The Operator under direction of the Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager will perform daily operations and maintenance activities at the treatment facilities and pump stations, with supervision, operations/monitoring/maintenance, and housekeeping of the facilities in accordance with contract requirements.

Schedule:

The Operators work a 12-hour shift that covers a 2-week cycle as illustrated below: Overtime for any hours over 40.

Week 1 - Saturday: Midnight-Noon, Sunday: Midnight-Noon, Off Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday: Midnight-Noon, Thursday: Midnight-Noon, Friday Off - Total Hours 48 (8 hours OT and time and a half)

Week 2 - Saturday and Sunday Off, Monday: Midnight-Noon, Tuesday: Midnight-Noon, Wednesday and Thursday Off, Friday: Noon-Midnight - Total Hours 36

Activities include:

  • The operation and monitoring of the Pumping station and the satellite pumping stations and all associated components.
  • Monitor the SCADA system.
  • Daily inspection of facility.
  • Maintaining communications with project personnel.
  • Preventive maintenance activities and data entry and report generation, including data for preparing the Monthly Operating Report.
  • Monitor and control assigned tasks to ensure cost-effective service to meet budget, and will serve as an integral team member with the project staff and management.
  • Comply with all company Health and Safety procedures and policies.
  • Coordinate with plant personnel, ensuring that other facility employees follow established administrative, safety, operating, and maintenance policies.

What you will need to succeed?

  • Must possess proficiency with computers, including an ability to work with: SCADA, Microsoft Word, Excel, Maintenance Management Programs, and other site specific systems.
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent.
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in the operation and maintenance of a water or wastewater treatment facility is desired.
  • Possess and maintain, a minimum of a Massachusetts Grade 4M Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator's License.
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver's License required.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
