Information Architect - Enterprise Data & Analytics Team (Finance)
We are seeking an Information Architect to join our Enterprise Data & Analytics team. This person strengthens the impact of, and provides recommendations on, business information that will need to be available and shared consistently across the company through the identification, definition, and analysis of how information assets drive business outcomes. This position is open to REMOTE candidates living in an approved key area.
Job Summary
Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive data knowledge and architecture expertise. Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business and information function activities.
Responsible for analyzing and translating strategic plans/needs and industry trends to map out how information should function and flow to support business and determine capability gaps. Develop and expand capability strategy by internal development of the existing constructs and platforms as needed. Provide guidance around data analysis to support the business and data strategy. Partner with IT in developing an IT framework/data product. Provide vision to project teams, resolving cross domain functional issues and aligning project work to the vision/functional designs provided.
Carries out the most complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues. Consistently displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the rest of the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of information solutions. Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
Major Duties
•Surfacing information priority: Assessing the benefits and the risks of information planned to be used in key initiatives to help steer the project teams in the right direction.
•Enhancing decision making: Provide the organization with a future-state view of the information landscape that is unencumbered by the specific data implementation details imposed by proprietary solutions or technologies.
•Influencing data / information strategy: By partnering with business unit leadership, and through the rationalization of the information value chain, the information architect will provide strategic, information-based recommendations to protect the organization from disruptions while also embracing innovation.
•Governing data more effectively: Working with Data Governance suggesting who can take what actions, with what information, and under what circumstances. Assist the Enterprise Data Group in developing governance processes and structures.
•Creating more value from data: Exploring the impact of business strategy changes on information management practices. Investigating ways to extract additional value from existing information assets.
•Data modeling: Creating and managing conceptual and logical data models as needed.
•Improving performance: Championing efforts to improve business performance through enterprise information solutions and capabilities, such as master data management (MDM), metadata management, analytics, content management, data integration / data mesh, and related information management or information infrastructure components.
•Carries out the most complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues.
•Consistently displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the rest of the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.
Knowledge/ Skills
•In-depth experience of designing and implementing information solutions. •Business domain, data/content and process understanding •Data-modeling and information classification expertise at the enterprise level. •Understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information models. •Knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis and design, and programming techniques. •Ability to assess rapidly changing technologies and apply them to business needs. •Strong communication and persuasion skills, including the ability to create messaging materials that meet stakeholder preferences. •Ability to analyze project, program and portfolio needs, as well as to determine the resources needed to achieve objectives and overcome cross-functional barriers. •Demonstrate the ability to work well with others and be respected as a leader despite non-management role. •Be an excellent communicator and collaborator across multiple technical and business stakeholders and leaders. Additional Preferred Skills and Experience
•Three or more years' experience within the investment/asset management industry
•Familiarity with RDM, MDM, BI, and data mesh design and implementation techniques.
Experience Required
•Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related study. •A minimum of 8 years of experience with data, with at least three years in an information architecture type role #LI-DK1
