Digital Specialist (Manufacturing)



As a Digital Specialist, you will assess, design, and maintain Lands' End Business knowledge content and provide technical support and administration for software applications within the Customer Care operations. Responsible for planning and developing various business analyses to assess the quality of the content and/or business processes in order to take the appropriate actions to develop continuous improvements.

The Digital Specialist is responsible for promoting and utilizing the company's knowledge assets. Work both internally through the company and externally with the company's stakeholders and clients. Serve as subject matter expert to provide guidance and best practices to be leveraged across the company along with standardized knowledge governance.

Position Summary: 

  • Collaborate with business leaders and knowledge subject matter experts (SME) to curate data to be exposed to both the customer and internal employees
  • SME on how the strategy, technical, people and processes work for best practice knowledge management
  • Provide support to establish unity in the organization around knowledge and how to implements new ideas
  • Ensure knowledge optimization, both the detailed analysis to track and maintain results, along with the action steps to improve processes to continuously improve the health of the corporate knowledge
  • Recognize knowledge gaps and design strategies and action steps to mitigate
  • Enhance and ensure that new knowledge is applied in the company's systems
  • Perform detailed data mining of various operational sources to develop insightful analysis
  • Participate in efforts to quantify, track and prioritize the business value of knowledge
  • Study operational problems and prepare written recommendations for improvements
  • Assist with design, development and deployment of technology improvements related to knowledge management
  • Assist with process documentation regarding the technology and standard operating procedures 
  • Communicate effectively in cross-functional and cross-business settings.  Serve as SME and liaison to other areas levering knowledge such as International, Retail, DC and others
  • Knowledge of SalesForce/Glovia to create and/or update content as needed.

Successful candidates will have the following skills and abilities:

  • High degree of technical aptitude, excellent understanding of complex data and mining data.  Ability to learn and integrate new information quickly
  • Strong knowledge of internal productivity applications (i.e. MS Office, Visio, Business Objects)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is critical
  • Ability to creatively problem solve
  • Demonstrated project management skills.  Excellent prioritization, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with business leaders
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.  Ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences effectively
  • Self-directed, self-motivated and flexible
