Mental Health ADN Faculty (Personal Services)
Under the general supervision of the Director, Nursing ADN provides clinical instruction and conducts clinical conference according to an approved course syllabus using accepted and effective teaching methods; develops daily lesson plans; advises and tutors students; maintains current and accurate attendance and grade records; remains current in applicable program teaching field; participates in faculty meetings, instructional seminars and in-service training sessions. Participates in school activities such as faculty meetings, student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings.
Serves as an educator, role model, mentor and facilitator. Creates an educational environment which fosters innovation, responsiveness, and accountability. Focuses extensively on facilitating student learning associate with prescribed course and program learning outcomes. Actively and substantively participates in assessment of student learning activities, including simulation, to maximize the potential for students to learn what is necessary to meet prescribes outcomes. Vigorously upholds a culture of academic integrity.
EDUCATION
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- one (1) year's continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area;
- OR
- one (1) academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency.
