Post Doctoral Associate/Ophthalmology (Finance)
An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jeff Gross ( www.jeffgrosslab.org ) in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our lab is broadly interested in eye development, regeneration, disease and evolution with ongoing projects in each of these areas. We're currently looking to add a new postdoctoral fellow to the group to focus on a project involving the use of zebrafish to identify neuroprotective factors that enable retinal ganglion cells to survive after injury.
Successful candidates should have a recent PhD in developmental biology, cell/molecular biology, neuroscience, genetics or related fields. Most importantly, they should be creative, possess a keen interest in biology and a collaborative spirit.
