As a Senior Chemist , you will be responsible for acquiring the knowledge and the experience needed for the development of Aerospace products.
Key Responsibilities :
Learns and demonstrates use of terminology, operating procedures, and equipment pertaining to individual project.
Assist in preparing samples and checking the physical properties of the products.
Perform the formulation of products in order to meet customer requirements and other various project tasks under direct supervision.
Continuously learn and understand formulation requirements and maintain good documentation.
Support scientific method through advised experimental observations and recommendations that affect advancement toward goals.
Responsible for acquiring knowledge through interaction with other team members in laboratory.
Uses internal and external expertise as advised.
Review of technical literature and attend quality, safety and technical seminars which increase knowledge.
You will be a technical leader who individually or as part of a team generates profitable, patentable, or new technical innovations and solve technical problems.
Develop a solid understanding of the business, competitors and internal PPG functions that influence the business' success.
Qualifications :
A Ph.D. in Materials Science Organic or Polymer Science is required.
Experience with Organic Synthesis or Polymer Synthesis required.
Working experience in any of these areas - coatings, sealants, adhesives, composites or elastomers - is preferred.
Demonstrates the ability to lead teams to tackle technical problems and takes ownership for communication with the team and management.
