Clinical Nurse Consultant (Mount Airy/Sparta, NC) (Manufacturing)

Position Summary:
The Clinical Nurse Consultant is responsible for overseeing resident assessments, staff training, and infection control practices while ensuring compliance with state regulations. This role includes leading competency evaluations, conducting clinical audits, and providing support during state surveys.
The ideal candidate is a dedicated Registered Nurse with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of senior care regulations, and a passion for training and mentoring staff to enhance care quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Resident Care Oversight: Conduct initial and ongoing resident assessments, ensuring person-centered care plans are developed and maintained.
· Staff Training & Competency: Provide training and competency evaluations for Medication Aides, Personal Care Assistants, and nursing staff.
· Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, medication administration standards, and state regulatory requirements.
· Clinical Audits: Conduct clinical audits to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement in resident care and documentation.
· Survey & Inspection Support: Assist communities during state surveys, implementing corrective actions as needed.
· Health & Safety Monitoring: Administer and read TB skin tests, oversee infection control measures, and support communities in maintaining a safe environment.
· Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with Executive Directors, Care Managers, and healthcare teams to enhance the quality of resident care.


Qualifications:

· Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (required)
· 1-3+ years of experience in senior care, assisted living, or healthcare (preferred)
· Knowledge of 10A NCAC 13F Rules for Adult Care Homes (preferred)
· Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor staff
· Excellent organizational and documentation skills
· Valid driver's license and ability to travel between communities
· Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly
