Communications and Marketing Specialist (Finance)

Leidos QTC Health Services is seeking a Communications and Marketing Specialist. Reporting to the External Communications Manager, this role is responsible for writing and producing a wide range of content—from campaign messaging and thought leadership to digital and social content. The specialist will also help coordinate content publishing, assist with event support, and contribute to brand visibility across LQTC's channels.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer with an eye for design, a collaborative approach to content creation, and a passion for narrative marketing. They bring a hands-on mindset to producing clear, compelling content, managing multiple projects across formats, and supporting trade shows, conferences, and other external events. This role will work closely with the broader communications team, subject matter experts, and partners across Leidos to bring the LQTC story to life.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit, and produce content that supports marketing campaigns, social media, executive communications, thought leadership, and brand storytelling in various long- and short-form content formats
  • Write scripts or talking points for videos, promotional materials, and customer-facing presentations, in collaboration with producers and subject matter experts
  • Support the execution of trade shows, conferences, and customer-facing events, including preparation of content, collateral, signage, and promotional materials
  • Collaborate with the Senior Digital Communications Specialist and Leidos team to support updates to LQTC web pages and landing pages
  • Coordinate content reviews and approvals across internal stakeholders; ensure all deliverables align with brand and messaging standards
  • Track content engagement metrics, social media performance, and campaign deliverables; compile reports and insights for the External Communications Manager
  • Assist with customer-facing email content and formatting in support of campaigns or events
  • Maintain organized content archives and help manage a content calendar tied to campaign milestones
  • Proven success juggling multiple priorities while maintaining a sharp focus on accuracy and detail
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree. 
  • 4–8 years of relevant professional experience in communications or marketing, with a strong writing portfolio 
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formats (short-form, long-form, social, digital) 
  • Experience supporting multi-channel content creation for brand, campaign, or product marketing 
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines 
  • Ability to translate technical or complex topics into clear and compelling content 
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms and publishing tools 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Word 
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting communications in healthcare, government, or regulated industries 
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere) or Canva 
  • Experience with video editing or production workflows 
  • Understanding of SEO principles and content performance tracking tools 
  • Experience supporting trade shows, conferences, or external events 
  • Familiarity with digital publishing platforms

This role may fall under the Service Contract Act (SCA), a federal law which provides for a U.S. Department of Labor-prescribed minimum prevailing rate of pay and certain benefit levels.
