Facilities Technician

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM, some flexibility within reason

Compensation: $25-35/hour

Summary:

A Facilities Technician maintains and repairs building systems and equipment to ensure a safe and functional environment. This includes tasks like preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and general repairs across various systems like HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.

Job Duties:

·         Diagnose, repair, and maintain all building and campus facility systems including heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, shop equipment, safety, security, etc.

·         Perform specified work with efficiency, accuracy, and in accordance with regulations, local codes, and standards.

·         Perform occasional grounds keeping and outdoor maintenance including managing snow removal as needed.

·         Coordinate work and deliveries from contractors and vendors.

·         Maintain inspection sheets and document maintenance, repairs, and findings.

·         Ensure a clean, organized, safe work environment.

·         Maintain open lines of communication with team members and management.

Qualifications:

·         Foundational facilities and building maintenance experience (e.g., heating, cooling, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, safety, security, etc.) - 3 years preferred.

·         Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs, or other drainage problems.

·         Electrical wiring capabilities to maintain electrical systems.

·         Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs for the buildings on campus.

·         Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed properly and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are appropriately addressed.

·         Certified or willing to become certified to operate forklift and aerial lift for maintenance around the campus.

·         Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools to make necessary repairs.

·         Basic computer skills with ability to handle IT setup.

·         Self-motivated

·         Ability to learn new technology, repair, and service procedures and specifications.

·         Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

·         Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being physically active.
