Regulatory Chemical Compliance Specialist (Biotech)

Key Accountabilities

 

Essential Functions

POSITION SUMMARY

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist – (Chemicals) will be tasked to support on all matters relating to the product safety and regulatory compliance of chemicals used by NexTier.  Key areas will be to develop, maintain and improve the Technical Data Sheets (TDS) chemical products database, a safety data sheet (SDS) management system and support on  strategy for disclosure/communication of sensitive chemical information, such as with FracFocus, to ensure that the company complies with all applicable global regulations and exceeds the expectations of our customers.

•

Support on the development and continuously improve written strategies, programs, policies, and procedures.

•

Confer with relevant NexTier departments and personnel, including Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and QHSE to implement suitable systems, processes and procedures

•

Support Coordinating with and direct chemical suppliers to ensure compliance with specifications and NexTier requirements

•

Participate in incident investigation, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions

•

Ensure that all chemical products, and the practices or processes utilizing them to meet local, state, national standards as well as NexTier standards

•

Assure safe working conditions and compliance with all regulatory requirements for handling of chemicals

•

Support on corporate technical representative on chemical QHSE management matters

•

Perform all other job duties assigned


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

Knowledge/Skill/Ability

•

Basic knowledge of all regulations, legislation, requirements, and obligations relating to chemicals and their use, as set by the likes of OSHA, the US EPA, DOT and individual states (FracFocus).

•

Proven competence in a technical setting and ability to understand new technical concepts.

•

Detail-oriented with good analytical, organizational and communication skills

•

Project Management skills to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
