Offshore Electrician B (Finance)

Job Summary

The Offshore Electrician B maintains, operates, and troubleshoots all electrical equipment, electrical systems, and power generation systems on the platform. Repair and maintain navigational aids, air conditioning equipment, power generation and distribution equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Possess and maintain technical knowledge of basic electricity up to and including 4160 VAC
  • Manage power distribution to Multiple Motor Control Centers (MCC'S) from multiple generators
  • Possess and maintain technical knowledge of digital communication protocols including but not limited to Hart communication Protocol and Field Bus
  • Possess and maintain technical knowledge of National Electric Code, NFPA 70
  • Maintain Facility UPS system including 250Volt battery bank. Maintains a waste heat recovery system containing high pressure steam
  • Maintain critical parts inventory
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment
  • Assist in the daily operation of the platform
  • Maintain communications, radios, and electronics instrumentation
  • Maintain Nav-Ais inspections and records
  • Assist mechanical maintenance and repairs
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs and maintenance
  • Perform electrical construction projects on the platform
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Licenses/ Certifications

Electrical license a plus

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working on a Deepwater offshore production facility
  • Proficient in the use of computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) are required
  • Must have demonstrated the leadership qualities conducive to a team environment
  • Good understanding of production operations to include but not limited to the following:
    • Wells, Separation,
    • Gas Dehydration and Conditioning
    • Produced Water Treatment systems
    • Gas Compression
    • Chemical Injection
    • Methanol and Water wash
    • Gas Lift Systems, Oil and Gas Measurement
    • Electrical Power Generation
    • Emergency Power Generators
    • AC & DC electrical power distribution and protection
    • Compressed Air, Potable Water, Chemical storage, and distribution
    • HVAC, Telecommunications, and information systems
    • Marine interface including meteorological monitoring, mooring system, hull and ballast systems, navigation aids, transport interface including helideck, laydown and bulk transfer facilities, oil and gas metering systems, gas and oil allocation and export, flash gas, fuel gas and associated samplers and analyzers
    • Pig launchers and receivers, flight fuel conditioning and transport including methanol, diesel and aviation fuels, flaring, venting and drainage, firefighting and fire suppression systems, lifeboats, and lifesaving equipment.
  • Must be familiar with ABS, OHSA, EPA and USCG regulations applicable to production operations
  • Experience in supervising contract personnel
  • Ability to work a 14/14 schedule, minimum 12-hour day

Physical requirements typically include standing, stooping, walking, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and wearing various personal protective equipment (PPE) in extreme variations of temperature year-round. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential, physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
