PURCHASING AGENT (Finance)
Responsible for the organization, planning, procurement, and all related activities for all material requirements in assigned paint, specialty, and paint sundry product manufacturing and corresponding purchased finished goods.
Scheduled Days: Monday through Friday Scheduled Hours: 7am to 3:30pm
Responsibilities (May perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned).
1. Review and analyze raw material requirements, production forecasts and changes in raw material purchases, packaging requirements, and outside purchased finished goods. Place orders accordingly while maintaining inventory levels as low as possible regarding meeting inventory goals.
2. Assist factory managers and their staff, where needed, with the completion of weekly production schedules. To include raw materials and packaging requirements, lead times, expediting receiving problems, inventory discrepancies, specials, schedule changes, problem/bad batches, quality control issues, defective materials and the coordination of returns and/or exchanges.
3. Maintain lists of current obsolete raw materials, packaging, and sales aids and initiate phase out, return, or disposal.
4. Administration of monthly cycle counts.
5. Coordinates new packaging introduction and all revisions about art, input to system, order placement, monitor delivery dates, and advising the Marketing, Production and P&IC dept for filling scheduling, and disposition of old stock for respective area.
6. Coordinates the phase out and disposition of old stock.
7. Maintains cost updates in system for raw materials, purchased finished goods and freight charges.
8. Reviews and troubleshoots invoice discrepancies.
9. Assists in pricing of outside business opportunities about obtaining price quotations and product availability.
10. Negotiates with vendors to obtain best price, order quantities and terms.
11. Evaluates and reports on the performance of vendors for price, delivery, product acceptability and vendor service.
Education & Experience
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
· 3-5 years of experience, preferably in Supply Chain, Purchasing and/or Inventory Planning.
· Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
