Director, Marine & Industrial Sales (Finance)



Overview

Florida Detroit Diesel Allison is searching for a Director, Marine & Industrial sales

Position Summary

Responsible for managing Sales opportunities to ensure the Company's products and services are effectively marketed in order to meet sales volume, profitability and market penetrations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise direct reports and others and direct overall assigned territory sales activities.
  • Provide training for Sales Representatives in coordination with the product support manager.
  • Set monthly goals for sales staff.
  • Establish sales areas, quotas, and goals for Sales Representatives.
  • Perform quarterly reviews of all Sales Representatives.
  • Make routine sales calls with all Sales Representatives.
  • Analyze sales records trends in relation to goals and objectives and competitive activities.
  • Recommend and implement corrective action as necessary.
  • Monitor projected sales and determine profitability.
  • Assist with inventory management of products.
  • Consult with various departments to ensure our customer's expectations are met.
  • Conduct monthly sales meetings with all Sales Staff.
  • Represent company at trade association meetings when necessary.
  • Responsible for all major accounts.
  • Monitor and communicate to upper management economic factors, competitive factors, and other developments affecting our assigned territory and make recommendations for enhancing growth.
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
  • Maintain and expand our customer base by:
  • Training sales staff on all the products available.
  • Locate new business opportunities within AOR.
  • Develop Specials based on special purchase opportunities.
  • Work with Managers to establish appropriate stocking levels for inventories, targeting pre-sold opportunities and implementing strategies for leveraging sales of discounted parts due to consolidated purchases.
  • Manage Sales Representatives compensation programs and set goals relative to compensation.
  • Coordinate rollout of national sales programs
  • Maintain a strong, personal commitment to the safety culture.
  • Ensure proper safety training, regular meetings and resources are provided to personnel to support adherence to health and safety procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Manage all staff in the Sales Department.
  • Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance.
  • Rewarding and disciplining employees.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education/Experience:
  • Prefer candidates with a BA/BS in Business Administration, Marketing, or related degree; or four to ten years related experience and/or training in relevant industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • A minimum of 3 (three) years in progressive United or industry related assignments is required.
  • A minimum of 1 (year) of proven leadership ability to drive sales teams is required.
  • Marine or Industrial sales experience is preferred, previous experience with selling Marine or Industrial services is required.
  • Knowledge of the marine industry is required and about the products and services to be marketed along with common prudent business skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation capabilities which include computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
