2nd Steel Manager (Construction)



2nd Steel, Wagner Equipment Co.'s Used Parts Division, is seeking applications for our 2nd Steel Manager in Brighton, Co.

The 2nd Steel Manager is responsible for the efficient operation and management of company's used parts business in addition to the strategic day to day operations in a manner that achieves branch objectives and that reflects the company's vision of working as “One Professional Team.”

Essential Functions:

  • Develops, maintains and implements strategy for overall product coverage using customer analysis, CRM information, and customer growth
  • Prepares and executes annual business plan and budget
  • Sets and reviews annual targets for Buyer/Seller
  • Evaluates Profit and Loss statement on a monthly basis
  • Process and evaluate monthly commissions
  • Plans short and long-term requirements on equipment and facilities
  • Develops and maintains working relationships with customers, corporate managers and employees.
  • Develops used parts sales and purchasing strategies for all markets for Caterpillar earthmoving equipment and engines.
  • Establishes sales and profit objectives and ensures objectives are met or exceeded
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of products
  • Submits payroll information in a timely manner
  • Supervises business expenses and inventory purchases. Processes and approves A/P documents to ensure timely payment
  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels to encourage sales while maintaining targeted levels of turns
  • Oversees the management of inventory for accuracy
  • Researches and identifies opportunities to purchase used equipment for dismantle or resale
  • Purchases used equipment, including processing of all required paperwork to ensure payment and safe transportation consistent with company policies
  • Determines appropriate purchase and sale price of parts and equipment
  • Solicits, reviews, and approves work done by WECO shops and outside vendors for the reconditioning of parts
  • Handles all consignment parts and agreements
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hires, trains, and directs a working staff sufficient to efficiently perform the functions of the branch operations
  • Provides on-going performance feedback, and conducts timely special and annual performance reviews, making recommendations for status or salary adjustments
  • Facilitates human resource policies to comply with local legal requirements while developing a knowledgeable, productive staff

Travel Requirements:

  • 1-25%

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree in a Business related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years' experience in a heavy equipment/agriculture equipment dealership at a level of responsibility which includes management of sales, rental, and product support operations
  • 5+ years administrative/clerical experience
  • 5+ years customer service experience
  • 3-5 years sales experience
  • 5+ years supervisory/management experience

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must pass all required pre-employment screenings which may include but are not limited to background checks, drug/alcohol testing, fit for duty testing, and any other job-related tests/screenings

 

Pay Range: $68,387.18- $102,236.39 base salary + Incentives
Base Salary is dependent upon education and experience
