Pasting Production Supervisor (Manufacturing)



What you will do

As a Manufacturing Supervising Engineer, you will lead efforts to drive process stability and reduce variation to support the area's OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) targets. You will identify and resolve issues across man, machine, method, and materials, and lead plant teams in developing process improvements in safety, quality, efficiency, and cost. You will also oversee and mentor production personnel, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.

How you will do it

  • Identify and eliminate causes of scrap, rework, and downtime using tools like Pareto, 5-Why, KT, DMAIC, SPC, and distribution analysis.

  • Ensure operator instructions are clear and visual when needed.

  • Participate in standardization activities and sustain best practices.

  • Use problem-solving techniques such as FMEA and DOE to implement solutions.

  • Lead and coach production personnel, evaluating skills and driving performance to meet quality and OEE goals.

  • Promote process stability through visual factory, 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.

  • Maintain strong employee relations and enforce safety and housekeeping standards.

  • Monitor and report daily indicators including OEE, scrap, and productivity.

  • Investigate material variances and implement improvements.

  • Support process audits and ensure conformance.

  • Participate in PFMEA activities to reduce product quality risks.

  • Support new product/equipment launches and ensure robust measurement systems and operator training.

  • Provide hands-on support and mentorship to newer engineers and team members.

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Process, or Industrial Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.

  • Excellent team-building and communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, and manage multiple projects.

  • Willingness to work assigned shifts, required overtime, and be on-call as needed.

Preferred

  • 1 year of prior supervisory or management experience.

  Our Winston-Salem, North Carolina assembly plant manufactures batteries used in automotive and marine applications. We opened our facility in 1978 and now employ more than 500 people and operate six days per week. We are actively involved in our local community and give back through food drives for Second Harvest Food Bank and toy drives for Brenner Children's Hospital.
