Arconic
Lead Mechanical Engineer - Central Maintenance - (Job Number: 21001300) (Finance)
Since it opened in 1948, Arconic's Davenport, Iowa aluminum facility has been at the forefront of American manufacturing. Nestled on the banks of the Mississippi River in Iowa, the plant employs 2,400 people and is a focal point of the global aluminum industry. Through continued modernization, including a $300 million investment over the past decade alone, Davenport has maintained its position as the world's premier aerospace supply plant and is today the hub of Alcoa's $3 billion aerospace business.
Central Maintenance Engineers are responsible (both individually and in teams) for the engineering and maintenance of multiple pieces of equipment, infrastructure and/or systems for the entire facility. Arconic Engineers have the responsibility for coordinating and implementing Lean Manufacturing principles across material flow paths, and thus must gain a complete view and understanding of the manufacturing process to be successful. Engineering assignments focus in one or both of two principal areas: 1) Design, specification, procurement, installation and commissioning of new and revised equipment. 2) Engineering and process improvement support in assigned areas of the facility.
The principal purpose of the Lead Engineer is to provide engineering leadership to support plantwide infrastructure including buildings, grounds, water systems (plant cooling, potable water, sewer and stormwater), compressed air systems, environmental systems and cranes. The Lead Engineer-Rolling must coordinate and communicate between inter- and intra- departmental needs to provide the support necessary for successful engineering work.
