Timber Accountant (Corporate - Chilco) (Biotech)
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for all accounting related to raw materials for sawmill production (timber accounting). Support the Resource (Timber) team including management of timber contracts, insurance certifications and documentation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Responsible for all accounting related to raw materials including month end closing and reconciliations
• Set up, maintain, and manage timber contracts in timber accounting system
• Manage and execute semi-monthly timber accounts payable check runs, including data entry, maintain timber records settlements, log purchase agreements, contractor payments and misc. invoices for payment
• Audit and manage timber purchase information from weight tickets and scale tickets daily
• Upload weigh and scale information from scales
• Compile and distribute weight tickets and reports
• Ensure weigh station functionality, including assisting truckers when problems with scales occur
• Support annual audits by providing supporting documentation as requested
• Process daily timber loads: Run daily reports and distribute to staff
• Respond to all timber vendor inquiries including communications with foresters and contractors
• Produce and maintain required reports and spreadsheets for management and others
• Bonding: Set up required bonding for industrial contractors as needed
• The listed items may not be the only duties performed in this position - there will be other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, or similar field of study; relevant experience, training and/or certifications may be supplemented for formalized college/university education
• Working knowledge with accounting principles
• Previous manufacturing environment experience preferred
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations
• Thorough knowledge in computer systems
• Able to multi-task, follow-through, delegate, and prioritize well to meet deadlines
• Valid Driver's License for business travel
• Ability to pass a drug, physical, and background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement. Sit and/or stand frequently, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull, maintain balance, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distances, and climb stairs. Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, vibrations, and airborne particles (sawdust).
