Tooling Engineer (Engineering)
The selected candidate will apply knowledge of engineering, design for manufacturing principles and industry practices to provide support in designing and documenting. Must be efficient with Heat Treatment fixtures, assembly aid fixtures, weld fixtures, inspection check fixtures, and proof pressure test fixtures for bent tubing and ducting with various shapes and geometries. All duties will be performed in a fast-paced and flexible environment
Must have a strong blend of technical, project, and positive customer relationship building experience.
Requires exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal skills, as well as demonstrated strong use of analytical skills.
Familiarity with test standards and industry standard test protocols (e.g. DO-160). Experience with root cause analysis.
Proficiency in CAD software required (CATIA, Solidworks or NX).
Aerospace experience is a plus. Prior experience with FAA or other regulated environments is a plus.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• In collaboration with other departments, designs tooling fixtures for testing, prototypes and production
•Researches the required tooling, chemicals, and testing procedures.
•Reviews and substantiates currently used tooling, chemicals, and testing procedures for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and other requirements.
•Develops and maintains a schedule for the assigned projects and communicates with other departments the status and schedule for assigned projects.
•Recommends product improvements and actively shares and implements continuous improvement and lessons learned with the team.
•Applies lessons learned from tools and fixtures users to new and existing designs.
•Prioritize tools and fixtures design to meet project deadlines
•Participates in new product development process
