Uniformed Security Officer (Security)



5 STAR Event Services is looking for a few sharp individuals to join our security team.  We provide uniformed security officers for the Hilton and Hyatt hotel as well as multiple office buildings in the Houston area. These sharp individuals must have an active Texas level II non-commissioned security license, and have reliable form of transportation to be able to work at these different sites. More sites = More hours!

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must also possess the following qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have security experience.
  • Texas Non-Commissioned Guard Card (Training/Testing is available) All applicants are required to submit to fingerprinting, pass the Private Security Level II testing and criminal background check. 
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Reliable forms of communication and transportation
  • Must possess excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Good Verbal and Written Skills
  • Must be Outgoing, Personable and Professional
  • Enjoy Working in a Team Environment

Job Duties: 

  • Act as a liaison with local law enforcement, client representatives, talent/sports team security and outside agencies.
  • Maintain security protocols and procedures
  • Ensures compliance with all sanctioned security mandates and protocols.
  • Highly responsive to emergencies in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
  • Troubleshoot and document any event day incidents and/or problems including those affecting clients, guests, and staff or operating issues.
  • Make rounds around the perimeter of the site, monitoring and observing for any suspicious behavior

  • Monitor and maintain loading dock and other door access

  • Acts as a troubleshooter for any problems during the shift 

  • Must know, enforce, and abide by all 5 STAR rules and regulations 

  • Knowledge of all emergency policies and procedures so that they may appropriately respond should any of these emergencies occur  

  • Oversight of all procedures 

  • Enforce and uphold the integrity of the facility and event 

Physical Requirements: To perform this position successfully, an individual must possess the following physical requirements:

  • Must be physically fit and possess full mental dexterity with the ability to walk, talk, stoop, kneel, crouch, hear and see
  • The ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time (minimum of 8 hours)
  • The ability to lift 25lbs.
