Position Summary

This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance. The Quality Control Manager will oversee all aspects of quality assurance, from mix design and testing to compliance and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, proven leadership experience, and a collaborative mindset to drive quality performance, support field operations, and exceed customer expectations.

Key responsibilities (essential duties and functions) include:

• Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Callanan Industries
• Drive a culture of safety as well as the organizational safety initiatives within the Hot Mix Asphalt/Aggregate Quality Control group.
• Drive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including mix optimization, design optimization, recycle efficiency, and bonus capture.
• Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished products..
• Formulate and maintain quality assurance objectives and coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize cost.
• Plan and prepare for mix designs and lead design scheduling efforts.
• Direct employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
• Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to asphalt products quality and reliability.
• Investigate and address customer complaints regarding asphalt/aggregate quality.
• Manage and schedule area Quality Control personnel for appropriate coverage
• Visit projects and engage with customers and crew to ensure we are providing quality product and continuously improving.
• Support hiring, retention, and development of Quality Control technicians.
• Support team in troubleshooting mix issues at plants and in the field.
• Support and lead material research and development, new technologies, and processes.
• Collaborate with sales team to resolve customer and agency issues and to be proactive on projects.
• Collaborate with agencies including NYSDOT, township and other third party assigned by owners to be proactive in producing and resolving any issues that arise.
• Responsible for administrative responsibilities including Prism and Stonemont.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

• High School diploma with 3+ year or relevant leadership experience
