Specialized Support Worker - Day Treatment Program (Personal Services)
Position Summary: The Specialized Support Worker (SSW) position is an integral part of a fast paced treatment team of experienced clinical and educational personnel. The Specialized Support Worker supports the program and education staff in creating a structured environment for children and adolescents who have behavioral health needs and require additional support. The SSW plays a pivotal role by facilitating therapeutic and/or psychoeducational skills groups, documenting daily activities and behaviors, presentation of students, and providing the guidance and encouragement needed for students to reach their wellness and educational goals.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in psychology, counseling, sociology, social work, nursing, neuroscience or other clinical field AND at least 2 years experience working with children and adolescents in a clinical mental health environment. Preference for those with knowledge and experience in a Juvenile Justice system.
- Must have audio/visual/verbal activity to provide supervision for the clients and to perform essential job functions.
- Must have physical dexterity in order to assist in physical interventions as necessary.
- Must complete and pass agency Crisis/Physical Intervention training.
- Must have emotional stability to perform essential job functions.
- Must possess verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record is required.
- Access to a telephone.
- Must be eligible for PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse History clearance and FBI clearance.
- Must be able to identify with the Agency's Mission Statement and support the agency's Core Values.
