Sr Controllership Accountant (Finance)



You will report directly to our Controllership Manager, and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.

As an Sr Controllership Accountant at Honeywell, you will ensure strong controls, compliance, and accurate financial reporting across your sites. Your role will directly support financial integrity, operational efficiency, and provide insights to inform corporate-level strategic decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

Accounting, Control, and Compliance:

  • Own, manage and co-ordinate end-to-end accounting and control process including the period-end closing activities. Deliver a standard month end close timetable & ensure compliance across entities.
  • Ensure process compliance with internal Honeywell policy and understand technical accounting aspects such as project accounting, revenue and cost accounting, assessment and distributions, and COPA cycles.
  • Ensure entity complies with US GAAP and HON policies.
  • Drive process/control compliance, taking action and reporting deficient or overlooked controls, and promptly notifying relevant stakeholders.
  • Own and/or support balance sheet review process. Completion of quarterly variance analysis of the B/S and P/L.
  • Manage balance sheet account reconciliation processes, ensure recons are delivered with quality and drive closure of aged / unreconciled / invalid items as per policy.
  • Coordinate and support Internal audit, external audit and SOX Compliance.

Business Partnership and Process Improvement:
  • Ensure a regular connection with key stakeholders in finance and business to deliver US GAAP compliant financials.
  • Provide financial reports, analysis, explanations and advice based on knowledge of financial info, relevant GAAP & supporting SAP systems to SBU/auditors
  • Partner with the business on new initiatives and projects, managing ad-hoc queries from business and other stakeholders.

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in (Public Accounting or Manufacturing Accounting), handling financial statements of manufacturing companies with an international presence, successful knowledge transition
  • accounting or controllership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial consolidation tools.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing best practices.
  • Process-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
