Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer with expertise in Structural and Stress Analysisto join our dynamic team. This role involves performing mechanical analyses of reactor components, ensuring structural integrity under various operating conditions, and contributing to the design of innovative reactor systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed structural analyses, including stress, fatigue, and seismic assessments of reactor components and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and performance.
  • Develop and validate analytical models using finite element analysis (FEA) tools.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, including ASME codes and NRC regulations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of best practices within the engineering team.
  • Develop and execute physical test plans in support of (or in lieu of) analyses.

Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural analysis within the nuclear, aerospace, or related industries.
  • Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) and familiarity with relevant software tools.
  • Strong understanding of materials science, particularly related to high-temperature and radiation environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
  • Experience with sodium-cooled reactor systems or other advanced nuclear technologies.
  • Familiarity with NRC licensing processes and safety analysis reports.
  • Background in modular or factory-based manufacturing approaches.
  • Familiarity with Siemens NX, Simcenter Nastran, and Simcenter 3D tools.
