Assistant Buyer - Sanuk (Construction)



Job Title: Assistant Buyer - Sanuk

Reports to: Merchandise Manager – Teva and Sanuk

Location:  Goleta, CA
 

The Role

The Assistant Buyer is responsible for aiding in executing and communicating merchandising strategies for the North America Sanuk Ecommerce business. The Assistant Buyer will report to the Merchandise Manager. They will work cross functionally with the Sanuk Brand Product team, Marketing team, Wholesale team, DTC Planning, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Performance Marketing and e-Commerce Producers to build assortment plans and execute said plans to deliver set revenue goals. This position is key to working with multiple teams in order to plan, buy and manage product that aligns with brand goals, GTM calendars and DTC planning. An employee who is a good fit for this role is someone who can collaborate easily, take direction and also provide feedback to adjust product and go to market strategies to best fit business needs. This job impacts multiple partners and departments so it's important the work is detailed, accurate and easily comprehended. The individual will need to work with multiple departments to bring the product from conception to delivery. A typical workday usually involves meetings with various partners, detailed work at a style-color level in excel and other programs. The most challenging part of this job is the constant change and need to adjust and adapt to changing trends, deadlines, etc. The ideal person will be organized, able to multi-task, handle multiple deadlines, and work easily with a variety of teams.

Your Impact

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

  • 1. Owning the seasonal buys at a style-color level. Doing detailed work at a style-color level to set the lifecycle, selection, sell thru, APS to ensure we are buying the right inventory at the right levels to support the tops down plan.
  • 2. Working with cross functional teams to align on and execute plans. Providing feedback to the brand using historical data to help illustrate successes and failures. Working with the brand product, marketing, supply and demand to ensure we have what's needed to deliver seasonal goals.
  • 3. Work with planning to ensure that tops down plans and bottom up style-color align. Take historical learnings and current trend to align on financial seasonal goals. Then plan at a style-color level to ensure we can meet said set goals.
  • 4. Work with eCommerce merchandisers to deliver an online experience that aligns with seasonal buys.

Who You Are

  • Collaborative. Able to receive and give feedback to align on the best final product, process etc.
  • Ability to multi task in order to meet multiple deadlines
  • Detail oriented and organized. Able to use work arounds as needed to ensure the right product and right amount of product is purchased

We'd love to hear from people with

  • 1+ years retail experience
  • Omni-channel and corporate merchandising experience preferred
  • Footwear and/or apparel experience preferred
  • Basic retail planning skills including sell thru, lifecycle, margin, markdown strategy
  • Medium to strong Excel skills required
