Coding Supervisor (Security)
Under the direction of the Coding Manager, the Outpatient Coding Supervisor (OCS) will follow all regulatory guidelines in the reporting and sequencing of ICD-10-CM and CPT- codes for outpatient services, will generate coding queries to physicians to clarify patient condition(s) when conflicting or ambiguous documentation is reflected in the patient record, will serve as a resource to Patient Financial Services (PFS) in the reconciliation and resolution of problematic accounts. The OCS will also assist the Coding Manager in the coordination of daily workflow schedules and priorities to ensure that all outpatient coding functions are completed timely and in keeping with bill hold days. This position is also responsible for routinely tracking all records via the daily Discharged Not Final Billed (DNFB) report to ensure that they are processed within the defined goals. The OCS will also be responsible for performing daily coding of assigned outpatient locations.
