Assistant to Commercial Loan Officer - Vienna Office (Finance)



SUMMARY- Represents the bank as the "Face of Somerset Trust Company". Employee should understand the culture and philosophy of the bank to perform their duties while demonstrating professional expertise in all aspects of job practicing sound decision making and maintaining consistent performance of all duties. This role is primarily focused on assisting the Commercial Loan Officers within the Vienna market, but also requires performing Teller and branch related duties on an as needed basis in order to ensure the branch can provide exceptional customer service within our Vienna Market.

QUALIFICATIONS -To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with accuracy and precision. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Other duties may be assigned.

Greets and works with clients in a professional manner.

Primary role is to assist the Commercial Loan Officer(s) in all aspects of the commercial lending function through effective utilization of support services.

Request personal and business financial information and respond to customer questions regarding requested information.

Communicate with customers, attorneys, lenders, underwriters and credit analysts as necessary.

Verify financials and all documents received for accuracy and completeness.

Verify new commercial loans for accuracy, before and after closing, and that all documents have been signed are on file with the bank.

Updating and maintaining the monthly/quarterly loan policy exception reporting, including any new policy exceptions and monitoring existing exceptions for the ability to remove them from the report tracking.

Prepare maturity and renewal forms including Customer Due Diligence and Beneficial Ownership documentation.

Prepare EDR reports, credit reports, flood reports, appraisals/in-house evaluations, property searches, HMDA when necessary.

Complete loan closing with customer in the absence of Loan Officer (may require travel).

Assist customers with account related questions (loans & deposits), establishing automatic payments, and/or requesting a business deposit account to be opened.

Assist in the maintenance of the commercial portfolios as assigned.

Assists with consumer lending in all aspects through effective utilization of support services.

Assists with teller functions such as processing night deposit activity, loan payments and deposits including opening of new deposit accounts for clients as needed and to complete dual control requirements.

Assumes and assists with other teller responsibilities as needed or required and maintains adequate knowledge of branch functions in order to back up the retail branch or complete dual control requirements.

Understands and supports all BSA/AML responsibilities as applicable to the position as well as consistently and accurately carries out these responsibilities in compliance with the Bank's internal policies.

All other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have any Supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, bonuses, etc.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
