Vice President, Strategic Partnerships (Finance)

This crucial position plays a key role in driving our profitable business growth by designing and implementing high-impact initiatives within Group Insurance Distribution that bolster our market standing to meet our financial goals. The leader is responsible for Strategic Partnerships and for designing and executing strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. In fulfilling these duties, the leader must work closely with internal and external partners to align objectives and drive mutual benefits, emphasizing collaboration, communication, connectivity, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities - Strategic Partnerships:

  • Develop and execute the GI wide strategy within strategic partnerships
  • Develop, execute, monitor and manage Supplemental Compensation plan
  • Analyze key performance indicators to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Serve as the senior relationship manager for key partners, fostering collaboration and alignment of goals
  • Lead end-to-end partnership lifecycle from identification and due diligence to structuring, execution, and performance measurement.
  • Collaborate across Client Relationship Management (CRM), sales, marketing, product, finance, claims and services to ensure successful implementation of partnership initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Head of Sales, Head of CRM, Head of VB Distribution and Head of MSL Distribution to develop and implement local market producer strategies that set Prudential apart from its peer group.
  • Work closely with regional and local leadership to ensure alignment and execution of national initiatives locally to drive results.
  • Accountability for ongoing communication between Strategic Partner team and field force to provide updates, action plans, and capture activity to ensure consistency with strategic objectives.
  • Develop and gain buy-in of clear expectations for relationship development and mutual success with Producers and develop strategies, goals and activities to ensure partnership advancement
  • Proactively develop creative solutions and innovative practices to enhance operational excellence and outcomes
  • Identify new partnership opportunities and position Prudential competitively
  • Develop and drive strategic data, analytics, metrics, scorecards to optimize performance with partners
  • Leverage external insights to support the design and execution of total compensation plans in alignment with business goals and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.

Key Skills:

Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the insurance and employee benefits brokerage/consulting industry, with a focus on group insurance products and services.

Strategic Relationship Building - Ability to cultivate deep strategic relationships with external partners and clients, engaging at the senior executive level. An ability to identify shared goals, co-innovate, and nurture trust-based partnerships.

Consultative Approach - Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to internal and external partners

Data-Driven Decision Making- Experience using data analytics to drive business decisions and improve operational excellence.

Negotiation Skills: Expertise negotiating contracts and agreements with partners to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and presentation broadly within the enterprise and with strategic partners.

Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team, driving them towards achieving partnership objectives, proposing creative solutions to the unique needs of Producer organizations and encouraging proactive approaches to meet and exceed goals. Experience leading cross functional teams and managing complex initiatives

Problem-Solving: Ability to address challenges and find solutions that enhance partnership value.

Networking: Exceptional networking skills. Must have the ability to lead and work collaboratively across external partners and develop/foster relationships at multiple levels within Producer partners and internally across distribution, product, and underwriting teams to drive strategic initiatives and achieve business objectives.

Innovation and Change Management Experience driving innovation and managing change within the organization, particularly in strategic partnerships.

Work Experience requirements

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in strategic partnerships or related roles
  • Bachelor's Degree required. A dvanced degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience using data analytics to drive business decisions and improve operational excellence
  • Travel up to 60%
  • Fully virtual

Location preference in the following markets: NJ, PA, NY, IL, MA, GA

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $213,000.00 to $288,200.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
