Director, Employee Relations & Total Rewards

SCOPE OF ROLE
Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Director, Employee Relations will serve as a strategic business leader and is responsible for the development and oversight of the organization's Employee Relations and Total Rewards functions. You will contribute to organization-wide HR initiatives regarding employee engagement; total rewards (including compensation, benefits and payroll); organizational design and structure; helping to build morale, staff engagement and development; and performance management. You will build strategies to improve the learning experience of employees, assessing company-wide training needs, driving training initiatives, and identifying and implementing suitable training solutions.
HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED ______________________________________________________________
Employee Relations:
· Effectively manage and oversee the daily objectives of the Employee Relations team.
· Be actively engaged when overseeing your team member's individual performance that should include ongoing coaching, development, and meeting objectives through the annual review process.
· Lead by example by provide ongoing communication, teaching, and training to team members.
· Actively lead team meetings and process improvement initiatives to continuously improve work productivity, quality and efficiency of the Employee Relations team.
· Direct and partner with Employee Relations team related to staff performance; coach and make recommendations to support supervisors and management through the corrective action or development process.
· Guide the Employee Relations team in the area investigations, training and development, compliance, and performance management.
· Conduct and participate in investigations as appropriate.
· Involve leadership of final dismissal recommendations and actions, ensuring proper retention of documentation.
· Participate in the ongoing development and training of Signature Health's performance management process.
· Create, review, interpret and evaluate company policies and practices to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
· Ensure a fair and consistent approach to the company's policies and procedures, thus promoting a positive and equitable work environment consistent with company culture.
· Create proactive programs designed to prevent workplace issues/concerns.
· Analyze, diagnose, design, and revise people programs, policies, and practices to sustain positive employee relations.
· Partner and mentor managers on handling sophisticated and sensitive workplace matters, managing conflict, investigations.
· Inform and guide the employees on the rules and regulations of the company and the procedures that need to be followed to ensure their compliance.
· Conduct surveys and gather information from the employees for developing and creating a conducive work environment, thus enhancing the employee experience.
· Analyze trends and metrics related to turnover and retention, as well general employee relations matters; partner with management to develop solutions related to personnel issues and/or development needs.
· Lead employee retention and engagement efforts.
· Review exit interviews to help develop retention strategies and monitor attrition.
Total Rewards:
· Directs implementation of the Total Rewards philosophy, aligning compensation & benefits and payroll programs to the strategic goals of Signature Health
· Collaborates closely with the Manager of Total Rewards to ensure effective programs are established.
· Responsible for ensuring consistent, equitable, and differentiated Total Rewards practices
· Formulates procedures and process for salary placement, position classification, benefits, and compensation of staff
· Design short and long term strategies to ensure efficiencies in payroll processing and delivery operations.
· Stays informed about the status of payroll laws and regulations and develops implementation plans for required changes.
· Provides ongoing assessment of, and directs compensation & rewards programs towards, compliance with various federal/state laws and regulations including FLSA, EEO, ADA, ERISA, HIPAA, etc.
· Assesses and provides recommendations towards requests for Additional Compensation, Position Creation, Reclassification and Promotions
· Secures preparation and delivery of Open Enrollment process for Benefits Enrollment
· Authors and presents Total Rewards research, proposals, manuals, trends, and findings to Senior Leadership, administrators, and any work-groups or committees
· Oversees large, complex compensation and benefits projects, including the design, analysis, and communication of base, differentiated pay, and salary increase programs
· Evaluates organizational practices and policies against external and internal environments to assess market trends, maintain consistency and compliance, and proactively advocate for the implementation of Total Rewards best practices
· Coordinates review of Salary Bands and Salary Reviews for identified programs and/or job profiles
· Collaborates with Senior Leadership, Finance, Legal, and staff in planning, implementing, and communicating changes to total rewards plans and programs
Training:
· Oversee a comprehensive training program geared toward creating a learning pathway for identified groups of new hires to obtain the skills necessary and understand the resources available within Signature Health to successfully begin and carry out their job duties.
· Create training programs and determine methods of training including individual learning, group instructions, and demonstrations, as well as training aids such as learning guides, handbooks, and visual aides
· Partner with leaders by conducting learning needs analyses and identifying development gaps, objectives and priorities.
· Researches and recommends sustainable, innovative blended learning solutions to meet business needs.
· Leads the curriculum design, creation of eLearning in collaboration with key strategic partners.
· Drive the organization towards efficient online learning approaches that compliment in-person classroom learning when required.
· Stay ahead of external trends and collaborate with peers to define creative training programs and strategies and state-of-the-art technology solutions
· Integrates and manages partnerships with vendors to support specific training needs
· Source, hire, lead, engage and mentor an exceptional training team.
· Oversee training on new policies and procedures for all staff or select staff, as appropriate.
· Oversee orientation and compliance training for new hires.
· Identifies and measures training effectiveness with competency-based tools like quizzes or assessments.
· Establish regular training schedules and conduct assessments for completeness.
· Evaluates quality and effectiveness of training programs and learning content to provide recommendations and solutions for improvement.
General:
· Comply with all agency policies and procedures.
· Maintain all aspects of confidentiality and privacy for staff, including compliance with HIPAA, promoting patient confidentiality and right to privacy.
· May be required to perform remote services as determined by Signature Health.
· Adherence and completion of compliance training provided by Signature Health.
· Responsible for and completes all productivity/documentation requirements.
· Participate in all assigned staff meetings and staff development programs.
· Demonstrate appropriate attendance and punctuality in adherence with Signature Health policies.
· Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE ______________________________________________________
· Bachelor's Degree in business administration, human resources or related field required.
· 5+ years' of progressive Human Resources leadership and experience required.
· 3+ years' experience working in a people leadership capacity required.
· Demonstrated knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations and administration as well as HR administrative best practices, HR Technology, and general practices.
· Experience utilizing an HRIS system required; UltiPro experience preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS ________________________________________________________
· Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.
· While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
· Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work.
