QA Technician (Finance)

Principal Accountabilities:
Inspect incoming, WIP (work in progress), and finished products according to written SOPs (standard operating procedures) and sampling plans, to ensure that regulatory, internal, and customer standards and specifications are met. Monitor CCPs (critical control points) to ensure compliance to the Company's Food Safety and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control) plans. Verify that plant GMPs (good manufacturing practices) are being followed throughout the processing plant. Take appropriate action when GMPs are violated. Conduct routine finished product bag date coding, box date coding, COO (country of origin), and pallet configuration verifications. Collect and prepare micro testing samples for 3rd party lab analysis. Take environmental monitoring swabs as instructed. Proactively communicate quality results and/or issues to Production and Quality management.
Strictly follow the Company's hold and release program. Ensure nonconforming material/products are placed on hold, assist in root cause analysis, and ensure appropriate corrective actions.
Audit product and facility temperatures. Perform post cleaning and Pre-operational Inspection. Conduct routine sensory evaluation of products. Test sanitizer concentrations at various food contact and non food contact points to ensure food safety. Perform other duties as assigned by upper management.
Backup For this Position: QA Lead or QA Supervisors
Required Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Strong logical thinking/problem solving ability and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications, notably MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
Quality, Food Safety, and/or produce-related industry experience. Knowledge of, and experience in food safety systems, such as HACCP, FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act).
Physical Demand:
Required to stand for long periods of time. Physical effort required (ability to move 50 lbs. from one area to another). Required to work in refrigerated temperature.
Work Environment:
Work performed in an office, field and production facility environment. Weekend work will be required. Smoke-free work environment.
