If you are an ENGINEERING professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our SIDNEY, OHIO location, you will be responsible for CAD modeling and detail drawing along with design calculations to meet stack-up, structural, thermal and fatigue load requirements. You will also ensure the design meets key criteria such as design for manufacturability, assembly and reliability. You will make contributions toward technical and design decisions and provide design support for new product development, customer support and plant support.
AS A DESIGN ENGINEER/SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
Design engineer perform design and analysis tasks to meet Fit-Form and Function and final release in timely manner
Design engineering includes shape definition, analytical calculations, material selection and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to meet Fit-Form and Function of the product
Create accurate CAD 3D-models and detail drawings for parts, assemblies, fixtures and layouts
Responsible to ensure the design meets key criteria's such as design for manufacturability, assembly, performance, and reliability
Works closely with manufacturing, quality, and production engineers to ensure products are designed for manufacture
Develop presentations describing design status. Summarize results and present in technical reviews
Participate in Refrigeration engineering technical review and Design for Frailure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) for applicable design projects
Adheres to Emerson Design Guidelines and regularly review the design processes and identify the updates required

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent plus one (1) year of applicable experience (Co-op/Internship experience may be considered).
Excellent presentation, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient in the use of various computer programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Ability to work on multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional working teams.
Ability to travel up to 5%.
Legal authorization to work in the United States unrestricted for an unlimited period of time - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Three (3) years of relevant experience in the design and development of rotating machinery components
Knowledge and experience with HVAC/R technology
Knowledge of scroll compression and rotating machinery
Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools
Manufacturing knowledge in one or more areas such as Machining, Casting, Powder Metal & Plastic molding.

About our Location
The newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for the air conditioning and cold chain businesses. Through our 30 years of scroll compressor expertise, our air conditioning related products help bring comfort and convenience in commercial, industrial and residential spaces. The cold chain business helps ensure that food safely and efficiently travels from farm to fork. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions.
