Activity Manager (Finance)

Job Description:

The T1 Activity Manager is accountable for leading and executing medium- to low-complexity projects across critical business areas including innovation, renovation, value leadership, and other growth or efficiency initiatives. This role manages projects through the full lifecycle-from charter development to post-launch review-ensuring disciplined execution through Mars' QuEST and QES processes. Success in this role depends on strong cross-functional collaboration, proactive risk management, and ownership of process and workflow execution to deliver results with speed, precision, and impact.
Project Management

  • Take full ownership of assigned initiatives, guiding them from Charter development through Post-Launch Review.
  • Lead cross-functional teams (R&D, Marketing, Sales, Supply, Finance, and others) to define scope, identify critical success factors, and develop detailed, actionable project timelines.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to preempt potential challenges, proactively resolving issues before they escalate.
  • Serve as the guardian of QuEST and QES process-ensuring high-quality gate documentation, disciplined governance, and effective decision-making.
  • Balance trade-offs between quality, risk, and speed to enable successful delivery of project outcomes.
  • Maintain documentation and project data integrity in PPM.
  • Workflow Management:
  • Ensure visibility through the Go-To-Market (GTM) workflow, partnering closely with PDS and cross-functional teams. Identify and resolve potential bottlenecks, continuously seeking opportunities to streamline processes, improve agility, and enhance operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-5 years of experience at Mars in any function that interfaces with Activity Management or 3-5 years of external experience in project management or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of stage-gate processes, with hands-on experience applying governance frameworks to project delivery.
  • Proven track record of success across at least two different demand or supply-side functions (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, R&D).
  • Familiarity with Activity Management business processes (QUEST/QES)and systems (PPM) and Project Management Tool (MS PRoject) is strongly preferred.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.The total compensation package for this position mayalso include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offeredand the employee's work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
