Sr. Vice President & GM, Transportation Business Unit (Finance)

The SVP - Transportation BU General Manager is a critical role that is essential to setting the strategic direction of and driving growth in what is already a high growth segment. The role will be responsible for the overall performance of the business unit. This individual will manage functional resources and influence the Sales, Marketing, and Platform & Technology functions in support of the business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable growth and share gain in the target market over a multi-year time horizon

  • Decide strategic priorities for the target market

  • Drive strategies that will enhance share gain

  • Manage BU functional resources, including offering managers, solution marketers, business development, and systems R&D

  • Influence other functions to deliver new capabilities - products, services, partners - needed to grow in the target market over a multi-year time horizon

  • Be accountable to the TBU P&L, both in the current year and on a multi-year time horizon.
  • Key Performance Objectives

  • Achieve long term-growth - Drive revenue strategies and share gain within the Transportation business. Ensure a clear understanding of what measures will drive results.

  • Decide strategic priorities within BU - Collaborate with the senior executive team and decide priorities; oversee Offering Managers responsible for defining marketing opportunities and launching offerings.

  • Ensure BU alignment - Manage BU resources across functions, ensuring collaboration. Additionally, help to drive alignment on Transportation customer needs with other functions across the business, including Product R&D, Marketing, Sales, Services, and Support to deliver on the offerings developed within the BU.

  • Help facilitate decision-making across all BUs - Work with other executives outside of the Transportation BU to build strong relationships. Set goals in partnership with other executives to ensure alignment and be willing to compromise for the good of NI overall. Adjust goals and implement contingency plans as required to meet budget and respond to changing business conditions. Monitor implementation of new projects and end programs or initiatives when appropriate.
  • Consistently recruit and retain top talent - Hire and develop a strong business unit team. Guide team in hiring and developing technical talent. Provide managers with the information and resources they need to achieve success and innovate in their roles.

  • Build a customer-focused culture - Regularly seek and share feedback. Implement initiatives to act on that feedback and provide a competitive edge with offerings developed and GTM strategy. Celebrate important customer wins and offering successes.
  • Key Qualifications

  • Executive Management - 20+ years working experience in strategic or technical marketing, managing within a matrix org structure

  • OEM or Tier 1 Automotive Experience - 5+ years at an automotive OEM or Tier 1 in a technical marketing or strategic marketing role with a good understanding of automotive supply chain dynamics and relationships

  • Global - Significant exposure to international markets and global businesses, with a particular preference for EMEA experience

  • High Technology - Experience in the high-tech industry, ideally in the transportation value chain. Technical acumen and understanding

  • Growth - Strong executive leadership, business strategy, and market development experience to achieve revenue growth and to gain market share. A clear orientation to growth and revenue target achievement.

  • Partnership Management - Experience creating partnerships to increase pipeline

  • Leadership - Proven ability to lead organizations to achieve operational performance, strategic initiatives, and formulate countermeasures.

  • Travel - Willingness to travel up to 25%, including international travel
