SUMMARY Assists with the daily operations within the store are carried out according to the procedures and standards that are required by the applicable Tribal and State laws. This includes ensuring proper customer service, merchandise restocking, inventory control and management, and cleanliness of the retail space. Leads the sales team to meet and exceed expectations, includes participating in the hiring, training and performance management of staff. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Greet customers pleasantly and with courtesy, provide visitors with all directions and provide all information regarding promotions. • Conduct required identification check on each customer. • Provide customer with a brief tour and explanation on the products available. • Assist customers with products and merchandise • Work with management to increase sales. • Merchandise store displays and assist with stocking and merchandising in sales area as needed • Provide exceptional customer services at all times and maintain courtesy and professionalism. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Operations: • Provide direction to all hourly staff • Monitor the scheduling of sales staff to ensure proper floor coverage and sales support • Ensure compliance across all areas of business • Opening/closing of store (daily inventory and cash management) • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards • Ensure the cleanliness, presentation, and organization of the facility • Adhere to approved standards, procedures and processes that support customer service and operational goals • Coordinate with Operations in ordering and distribution of all products, merchandise, and office supplies • Comply with established inventory procedures using the Store's software, and responds to any discrepancies by notifying Manager and assisting with investigating reasons for the discrepancy Customer Development: • Contribute to the overall satisfaction and safety of each customer • Educate customers by explaining the qualities, including potential health/wellness values, of marijuana products to match customer interest and needs; • Assist customers by providing information; answering questions; obtaining merchandise requested; completing payment transactions; • Monitor sales and customer relations reports by analyzing and categorizing sales information; identifying and investigating complaints and service suggestions Performance and Talent Management: • Supervise all staff, including scheduling oversight during Store Manager's absence • Collaborate with Store Manager and PTCE Human Resources Director to assist in functions such as recruiting, training, managing and counseling of Retail Staff; • Participate in interviews for appropriate staff • Recommend pay changes, incentives, promotions and bonuses for staff to the Store Manager • Ensure excellence in training for new hires and ongoing training for staff • Assist in training all staff in the PTCE policies and procedures • Supervise, coach, and communicate with staff to meet and exceed performance • Provide recognition and discipline where appropriate with concurrence of Store Manager • Evaluate and review staff performance; provide feedback to Store Manager Because of our commitment to customer service and the well-being of our team, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of administrative and field duties from time to time. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will directly supervise Store management team, sales staff and security in the absence of the Store Manager MINIMUM/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 21 years of age EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or G.E.D required 4 years of retail or customer service experience preferred 2 years of retail management 1 year of Cannabis Retail Management experience LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and other staff. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute ratio and percent and interpret graphs. Understanding of basic accounting principles. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions in various forms and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: This position is classified as a sensitive Tribal position. Therefore, applicant must submit to and clear a pre-employment criminal background check. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Demonstrated passion to serve cannabis customers and community. • Knowledge of cannabis and its various uses. • Knowledge of applicable regulations and ability to familiarize oneself with applicable Tribal Ordinances/Regulations. • Skilled in Point-of-Sale systems and cash management. • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, customers, and vendors. • Ability to work a FLEXIBLE work schedule including nights and weekends. • Ability to exercise independent judgment. • Proven ability to manage teams effectively. • Outstanding customer relations skills. • Excellent business communication skills. • Must be proficient in all components of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and daily business reports. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to perform manual labor tasks which can include sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, reaching, performing repetitive tasks, and frequently lifting up to 50 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: This is a normal retail store setting; noise level ranges from quiet to loud but is usually moderate.
