Financial Planning Analyst, Financial Planning & Procurement - Division of Supervision and Regulation (Finance)
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1. Establishes methods and systems for financial data collection, selection, interpretation
and/or analysis of complex financial data, variances from plan, and other financial data to ensure
expenditures, actions, and potential recommendations affecting these expenditures are consistent
with governing documentation.
2. Develops, utilizes, and maintains financial models and performs complex analysis utilizing
the data gathered from these models across a variety of financial areas to support recommendations
and provide options for consideration.
3. Acts as primary liaison to complex organizations, larger divisions or Reserve Banks and is
responsible for analyzing, reviewing, monitoring, and identifying trends, issues, options, and
potential recommendations to ensure maximum budgetary efficiency and effectiveness in line with the
mission, the mission of the external organization, multi-year strategic plan, and/or annual
operating plan.
4. Provides accurate, timely and comprehensive information to management on broad range of
complex topics by assembling and summarizing complex data sets, preparing clear and concise reports
utilizing data, trends, and other available financial information, developing clear and concise
presentations or reports of findings and recommendations, and preparing appropriate implementation
plans for follow up actions.
5. Leads efforts to meet internal control requirements by ensuring regular process review,
supplying data and other information as necessary, recommending improvements, and confirming all
documentations is complete and accurate.
6. Builds collaborative relationships with customers and other across all levels within the
organization. Builds rapport, is able to constructively handle difficult situations, and builds
trust with stakeholders.
7. Develops own professional skills, including identifying and initiating activities to ensure
this development and maintains an up-to-date knowledge of practices and relevant automation skills
within the financial field.
8. Requires the ability to work under pressure, multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and quickly
adjust to changing situations.
Position Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and at least five years of financial
analytical experience in the areas of financial management, budgetary processes, and financial
forecasting. Must possess the ability to utilize various financial automation tools, such as
forecasting models, complex spreadsheets, and business intelligence tools. Requires knowledge of
word processing software and the ability to compose and edit documents, reports, and other
communication tools ensuring they are accurate and concise. Must be able to communicate clearly
and effectively in both an oral and written manner to a diverse audience. Requires the ability to
understand broad financial concepts, detailed processes, the strategic plan and financial environment, and the financial objectives of each
division or Reserve Bank.
