Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Millwright to join our Ashland LLC business at our Calvert City, Kentucky location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the manufacturing function. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • The candidate must work in a SAFE manner. Support all company safety, health, environmental, and quality programs and policies. Attend scheduled team meetings and complete safety training requirements.
  • The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication and good listening skills.
  • The candidate must be able to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
  • The candidate must interact professionally with site personnel, visitors, contractors, and individuals at all levels within the Ashland organization.
  • The Ashland Calvert City plant is a 24/7 continuous operating facility. From time to time the Maintenance Department is required to work off shifts and hours to keep the facility running. The candidate will be expected to work these shifts and take emergency call ins as needed.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • The individual must have reached journeyman status through an approved apprenticeship program or have a minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience as a millwright, industrial mechanic, and/or machinist in an industrial type setting.
  • The individual must possess verifiable experience performing maintenance work on rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, and gearboxes, as well as other types of rotating equipment (rotary valves, etc.).
  • The ability to assemble/repair equipment to specified tolerances is a must and working knowledge of all craft tools is required.

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • Experience with laser alignment tools is preferred, as is the ability to operate a manual lathe and mill.
  • The ability to perform certifiable structural welding is preferred.
  • Ability to operate small equipment (carry deck crane, telehandler, man lift, etc.) is preferred but not required at the time of hire. Candidate will receive training on this equipment.
  • It is important the successful candidate possess sufficient computer skills to navigate the CMMS system (Maximo), Microsoft Outlook, etc. Additional site-specific craft training as deemed appropriate by the company will be required.
